Montreal, November 18, 2019 —IRICoR held the first of its brand new series of Lunch & Learn conferences on November 11. Organized in collaboration with the Lavery law firm and intended for research and life sciences professionals, its theme was “Patents and rights of inventors in academia”. The event was a resounding success.
The conference brought together close to 60 participants, including several scientific research professionals, investigators, postdoctoral fellows, pharmaceutical industry representatives and research centre representatives.
The workshop was led in a very constructive manner by Mr. Alain Dumont, guest speaker. Many important issues related to patents in academia were addressed by setting out the particularities involved in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical fields. Mr. Dumont was able to capture the attention of the participants through the relevance and quality of his presentation.
